What We Offer
We provide ecological surveys, habitat assessment, and biodiversity advice for planning and land management across East Anglia. Our services are designed to help you navigate ecological requirements efficiently and meet your project objectives.
-
Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) is now a mandatory requirement for many development projects in England. We provide comprehensive BNG assessments including baseline habitat surveys using the UKHab methodology and QGIS mapping, metric calculations, and advice on realistic ways you can achieve the required 10% net gain.
Our services include UKHabs surveys, river condition assessments using the MoRPh methodology (RCA qualified), and Habitat Management and Monitoring Plans (HMMPs) to demonstrate how BNG will be delivered and maintained over the 30-year period.
Whether you're navigating BNG requirements for a small residential development or a landscape-scale project, we provide clear, practical advice backed by accurate baseline data.
-
Most development projects require ecological input to satisfy planning requirements. We provide Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEAs), and Preliminary Roost Assessments (PRAs) for bats to identify constraints early in the planning process, helping you understand what's required before submitting applications. PEAs will identify any potential constraints or impacts to biodiversity and whether you need further surveys such as reptile, great crested newt, water vole or breeding bird surveys.
Where constraints are identified, we can carry out Phase 2 surveys including bat emergence and activity surveys. All surveys follow current best practice guidance and are timed appropriately within the survey season. To avoid delays it is advisable to get a PEA completed early on in your project.
We also provide Biodiversity Enhancement Plans/Strategies and Landscape & Ecological Management Plans to satisfy planning conditions and demonstrate how your development will deliver measurable benefits for local wildlife.
Where specialist surveys are required, including tree surveys and some protected species work, we work with trusted local experts to deliver comprehensive ecological assessments.

Whether you're managing woodland, fulfilling BNG obligations through Habitat Management and Monitoring Plans (HMMPs), or enhancing biodiversity on your land, we provide practical advice tailored to your site and objectives.
We specialise in woodland management plans for estates, landowners, and farmers, including advice on coppicing, thinning, ride management, and veteran tree retention. Our plans balance timber production, biodiversity, and access requirements with practical, achievable recommendations.
We also provide Habitat Management Plans for a range of other habitats including species-rich grassland, wetlands, heathland and hedgerows, with clear guidance on management prescriptions, timings, and expected outcomes.
All advice is grounded in local knowledge of East Anglia's habitats and species, ensuring management recommendations are practical, cost-effective, and deliver measurable biodiversity benefits.
